Japan is a very safe country to live and study in, and Tokyo is one of the safest cities in the world. It is one of the most expensive cities in the world with a low crime rate, but it is also one of the safest. Tokyo has a low unemployment rate, so you are less likely to run into someone trying to take advantage of you. If a woman travels alone to Tokyo or any other Japanese city, she finds Tokyo to be one of the safest places in the world for women.
