MODERN LOVE: Love in the Age of Cold Intimacies at the National Museum of Contemporary Art
Modern Love is an exhibition about love and close relationships in the era of late capitalism, globalization, digital connectivity and social media: narcissism, obsession with self-promotion, digital dependence, and commercialization of emotion. It is curated by Katerina Gregou, artistic director of N.M.C.A.

#SOPHYGRAY – A feminist audio bot
#SOPHYGRAY is an interactive artwork and performance by E.M.A.P. guest artist Nadja Verena Marcin that coincides with the launch of the corresponding app. The artist is interested in the potential and constraints of AI in the areas of language and emotion, as part of a critical reflection on the use of various chatbots, including Amazon’s Alexa, Microsoft’s Cortana, and Apple’s Siri.

Aris and Lakis Ionas (The Callas), twenty years after their debut, take over the -1 of the Onassis Stegi with a psychedelic exhibition soaked in Mediterranean psychedelia. Episodes from a journey that demands a radical pedagogy of togetherness, a wasted version of love, and a fragmented, transforming psychedelia of death.

One of the most significant figures in modern Greek art is the subject of the first thorough retrospective exhibition, which strives to commemorate and shed light on his intricate, lofty, and profound Greek invention. It follows the first significant temporary exhibition of portrait paintings in the Louvre collections, thus the symbolism is not coincidental.

“George Xenos – Places of contemplation” at the Megaron The Athens Concert Hall
The exhibition “George Xenos Places of Reflection,” organized by Anna Kafetsi, opens in the Athens Concert Hall’s annexM on 12/14. This show marks the culmination of 2022’s cycle of monographic essay exhibitions. The exhibition features 102 pieces from various eras, the majority of which are newly discovered from the artist’s archive, with paper painting serving as its foundation. The entrance is free every Thursday.

“Image routes 17th-19th century” at Pireos 138
Through the treasures of the Benaki Museum, the exhibition examines the variety of icons in use in Orthodox Greece from the 17th to the 19th century. In addition to being considered as a physical thing, space is also seen as a social construct that is sustained by the idea of community fostered by Orthodox identity and shared by people from various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

Exhibition: “Return. Cycladic treasures on the way back” at the Museum of Cycladic Art
15 ancient artifacts are on display in the exhibition for the first time. The historic agreement between the Ministry, the Museum of Cycladic Art, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York (MET) was ratified by the Greek Parliament on September 9, 2022, and this is the first step in putting it into action. The agreement calls for the gradual return to Greece of Leonard Stern’s collection of 161 Early Cycladic artifacts, which have exceptional archaeological value.

“This Current Between Us”: Group exhibition at PPC’s Steam Power Plant
The exhibition, which was organized by Panos Giannikopoulos and Georgia Liapis, has 38 artists and thirty of their new works. The show is part of the “The other body” project by Eleni Kalara, created in partnership with Blow-Up, the Athens School of Fine Arts, and PPC.
