With summertime reaching its peak, the time has come to take a look at the top ten summer movies for hopeless romantics. With most of us taking advantage of the outdoors this season, this list will offer some well chosen options for our beloved introverts, or those seeking to explore a wider range of indoor activities.

10. The Last Summer (2019)

The Last Summer is a 2019 film directed by William Bindley. Encompassing the tropes of American romantic comedy films, the movie stars KJ Apa, Maia Mitchell, Jacob Latimore, Halston Sage, and Tyler Posey. Centered around the “last summer” of an interconnected group of recent high school graduates, the viewer follows along as the characters navigate through personal issues while enjoying their final summer moments before moving on to college. This pick is a great one for teenagers or college students who relieve their favorite summer moments through the eyes of the characters.

Teen Beach Movie is a Disney Channel Original that premiered on July 19, 2013. This classic summer movie starring Ross Lynch and Maia Mitchell is guaranteed to engage all viewers with its upbeat and lively songs, dances, and characters. Directed by Jeffrey Hornaday, Teen Beach Movie features surfers Brady and McKenzie who get swept away by a rogue wave that magically dispatches them inside the vintage beach party film of the 1960s, Wet Side Story. 7. The Last Song (2010)

The American coming-of-age teen romantic drama film The Last Song, is directed by Julie Anne Robinson and features protagonists Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth. The movie follows a troubled teenager as she reconnects with her estranged father and falls in love during a summer in a quiet beach town. Alongside this blossoming summer romance, the troubled father-daughter relationship gets a new lease of life when the two begin to explore a common thread, their passion for music.

Angeliki Georgakopoulou
Born in 2002, she is currently a Law student at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
